DTS is the entry level course to join YWAM as staff/missionary, to pursue a degree with the University of the Nations or avail advanced courses for ministry growth and leadership development.
Frontier Missions DTS
Every first week of February. There is local outreach to work among least reached communities in South Africa or border countries like Lesotho, Swaziland, etc. Been focusing our overseas outreach in Uganda in partnership with local workers/missionaries who work among the least and unreached groups. We have a heart for AFRICA and we will focus on countries wanting our partnership. This is an Open Application from ALL nations. Regular DTS fees apply.
Strategic Ministries DTS
Every first week of July. The heart of this DTS is to work among cultural communities in South Africa. We help other ministries or churches working among the poor and especially with children and youth who are orphans, out-of-school, victims of HIV-Aids and physically impaired. Overseas outreach is possible when the number of students are very cross-cultural. Our target locations will be strategic cities in Asia or anywhere in the world. This an Open Application from ALL nations. Regular DTS fees apply.
We run this DTS at least once in every 2 years. This is a bi-lingual DTS where English and Spanish are used in teaching. There is local outreaches to expose our Latino students into the African culture and there is an overseas outreach in a Spanish-speaking country to expose our African students into the Latino culture. Limited seats are open to other nationalities who has passion for Afro-Latin ministries. Regular DTS fees apply.
Prison Ministries DTS
Dates to be arranged. We have access to correctional services in the Free State and in past years we had run the school and produced leaders who are now serving God powerfully. We want to revive this ministy as soon as DTS Alumni are challenged with this need. This is exclusively for prisoners/inmates. Special DTS fees apply.
Dates to be arranged. We have been running short-term courses in communities like Bakenpark, Lindley, Fouriesburg and Reitz in the Free State. Not only that, with our Mobile Teams we have traveled extensively to other surrounding towns and provinces (e.g.Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Kwazulu Natal) for teaching during outreaches. The graduates and host groups are clamoring for a regular DTS to be conducted in their respective locations as it is not feasible for them to join the regular DTS in the base. This is exclusively for South African citizens/residents and limited seats are open to international applicants who are interested to live in a challenging environment and sub-standard living conditions. Special DTS fees apply for South African citizens/residents and regular DTS fees apply for international students.
We want to be relevant to the needs of this generation and are open for more creative forms of DTS in order to live up to our motto, "TO KNOW GOD and MAKE HIM KNOWN."
